FAQ

Award Winning DJ Entertainment

Choosing the right DJ for your event is a primary key in making it sucessful. Not all DJ's are created equal. It is very important to know which questions to ask your prospective DJ.

1. Are they using a professional grade audio and lighting. It is good to know whether or not they are using professional grade DJ equipment and not just some home audio unit that will not be able to perform at the level your event requires.

2. Do they offer a written contract? All pricing needs to be in the contract including any extras and overtime rates as well.

3. Do they specialize in one type of music or are they versatile in many genres? Will they accept guest requests or do they have a set playlist? You never want to be restricted to what the DJ will only play, you want to have free range access.

4. Ask they DJ how long it takes to set up there equipment. Set up times can vary, but if they have a lot of equipment they are going to need access up to 2 hours in advance. Keep in mind the longer it takes to set up the more bulky and space consuming their setup is. Gibbs Productions sets up in 20 minutes and has a very classy low-key look. This keeps the focus on you and not the DJ's elaborate set-up.

5. Gibbs Productions typically charges $400 - $1000 for events lasting 4 hours. DJ's sometimes more if the event is outside, or requires extra equipment for larger crowds. Most DJ's will charge more for holidays especially New Years Eve. Make sure any and all charges are in the contract. Please always remember that the lowest price is not always the best deal. A bridal survey recently revealed that in hind site more than 98% of the brides would have spent more money on entertainment and made it their #1 prioroty. Most people take a DJ for granite, try seeing the look on your guests face when you have no music due to a DJ error. It's not a good feeling or a pretty site.
